Our Story
Some things never leave you.
For me, it was always the water.
I grew up along Florida’s coastline, where the ocean wasn’t a destination, it was simply part of everyday life. The beach. The shoreline. Quiet mornings before the world woke up. Those moments shaped who I was long before I realized they were shaping me.
Then life did what life always does.
It got busy.
Careers. Responsibilities. Deadlines. The things we convince ourselves can’t wait.
Somewhere along the way, I drifted away from the water.
But the water never drifted away from me.
Every time I found my way back. To a lake, a beach, or a quiet stretch of shoreline… I remembered something I had forgotten.
Life feels different on the water.
Not because everything is perfect.
Because everything slows down.
Then something unexpected happened.
I met Isla.
She grew up on Florida’s east coast, surrounded by the same water that shaped my childhood. Without realizing it, we had both been chasing the same feeling our entire lives.
The water wasn’t just something we enjoyed.
It was where we felt most like ourselves.
Together, we realized Sandora wasn’t simply an apparel brand.
It was a way to build a community around the life we already loved.
There’s another part of this story that’s deeply personal to me.
My father spent more than forty-five years building one of America’s most respected apparel manufacturing companies.
Clothing wasn’t simply his business.
It was his craft.
His life’s work.
Growing up around that world taught me that great apparel isn’t just about fabric or printing. It’s about creating something people choose to wear because it becomes part of their story.
Sandora is my way of carrying that legacy forward, in a new direction, for a new generation, and for a community brought together by the water.
People often ask where the name came from.
Sandora was born from the things that define us.
Sand represents the shoreline. Where so many of life’s greatest memories begin.
Ora carries a deeper meaning. In Latin, it speaks to the coast, the edge where land meets water. In Spanish, hora reminds us that life is measured in moments, not possessions.
Together, the name became something bigger than we ever imagined.
A reminder that the best chapters of our lives happen where the journey meets the water.
Sandora was never created to sell T-shirts.
It was created for the people who understand the feeling of shutting off the engine, dropping the anchor, and hearing nothing but water against the hull.
For sunrise paddleboard sessions.
For afternoons that somehow become sunsets.
For weekends on the lake.
For quiet mornings on the dock.
For beach towns that always feel like home.
For families, friends, and strangers who become lifelong memories because they shared one perfect day outside.
